COMMITTEES

Supported by 6 Committees, the CFAI carries out its mission of recognition and control of the profession in accordance with its charter ( May 15th, 2003) and rules of procedure (May 15th, 2003).

THE COMPETENCE RECOGNITION COMMITTEE

It is the CFAI founding committee whose role is to organize and oversee the juries. Their decisions are submitted to the Board of Directors who make the final decision.

THE HIGHER APPEALS AND CONCILIATION COMMITTEE

It gives its opinion concerning the claims which are formulated and may refer to decisions made by the Competence Recognition juries or to litigations between interior designers or with a third party. One of its members is a legal expert.

THE DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE

It gives its opinion concerning the cases it is presented with or it discovers by proposing the application of appropriate measures or sanctions to the Board of Directors who make the final decision. Failure to respect professional rules, the Code of Duties, the rules of procedure and the statuses is a fault. The applied sanctions may be temporary or definitive, including being struck off.

THE SUPERVISORY COUNCIL

In charge of implementing statutory and regulatory texts, it ensures that registrations are conform and that the members’ practice is professional. It also ensures that the yearly register of the approved competent interior designers, region by region, is correctly published, as well as those who hold an aptitude design status certificate.

THE TEACHING COMMITTEE

It maintains the teachers’ evolution under constant review and assists the schools requiring help into their recognition procedure. It takes part in the rigorous identification ot teachers who train interior design students.

THE COMMUNICATION COMMITTEE

As the national Observatory of the profession, it implements the CFAI communication policy in a concrete way, by all appropriate means.
